Raspberry Cheesecake Brownies

Raspberry Cheesecake Brownies

Raspberries.  Cheesecake. Brownies.  Mmmmmm.  Individually delicious, but combined together in the form of Raspberry Cheesecake Brownies it’s a slice of chocolatey, creamy, tartly sweet heaven.  Not the healthiest of treats, I’ll grant you that, but life is too short to not indulge now and again.

The recipe for these Raspberry Cheesecake Brownies comes from the superb delicious sweet collection from delicious magazine. With Christmas soon upon us I thought the collection of delicious indulgent recipes contained in sweet would be invaluable, so added it to my ever expanding collection.

delicious sweet is a compilation of the best sweet recipes featured in delicious magazine.  It organises the recipes into chapters on chocolate, crepes and pancakes, cakes, meringues, tarts, cheesecakes, warm puddings, slices, small cakes, junior cooks, chilled desserts, ice cream and basics.  Not only are the recipes droolworthy, but the photography is the icing on the cake.  This is the perfect gift for a sweet toothed cook, like me, without the hefty price tag of most cookbooks.

I’ve been thinking about cookbooks and Christmas gift lists in the last few weeks, as I’ve been asked what I want for Christmas quite a few times.  It’s quite funny to think that almost my entire wishlist is filled with cookbooks.  Very different from previous years.  The problem has been narrowing down the list.  My wishlist includes Nigella Kitchen, The French Laundry Cookbook by Thomas Keller, Dessert Fourplay by Johnny Iuzzini, Plenty by Yotam Ottolenghi, Baking by Dorie Greenspan, Paris Sweets by Dorie Greenspan, Kitchen Diaries by Nigel Slater and Tender Volume 1 by Nigel Slater.  There are just so many fabulous cookbooks out there it’s hard to narrow things down.  I think a visit to a bookstore might be in order so I can flick through each of these books and decide which I really like.

So, what is on your Christmas Cookbook wishlist?

I remember one year my brithday pressie wish list was all cookbooks - mostly ones filled with gorgeous looking desserts like your brownies as I have the biggest sweet tooth ever

I have a huge sweet tooth too chanel. Good to know I'm not alone in that :) What would be your favourite sweet cookbook then?

The crabapple cupcake book is great for cupcakes and David Lebovitz for ice cream, otherwise I love Gourmet Traveller dessert recipes the most.

Thanks for the suggestions Chanel. I will definitely check out David Lebovitz for ice cream so I can make the most of my ice cream maker. :)

Life's too short to skip dessert, that's for sure :)

Great cookbook list. I just finished bookmarking recipes to try from Plenty, and ended up flagging virtually every page! You'll love it. Hope Santa delivers ;)

Oh wow, I've made these cheesecake brownies before! It must've been a couple of years back (I seem to recall I made them for my old lab, so it would be either 2007 or 2008) and they were so good. The recipe was on taste.com.au: http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/5935/raspberry+ch...

Looking through the wishlist I've got saved on my Fishpond account, the cookbooks I'm most keen to get would probably be Nigella's Kitchen, Red Velvet & Chocolate Heartache by Harry Eastwood, and The Persian Kitchen: Home Cooking from the Middle East by Neda Afrashi. I've had a look through the latter two at Black Pearl and they both look amazing.

Red Velvet & Chocolate sounds right up your alley. I've seen the Persian Kitchen in stores, definitely a beautiful book too. Great taste :)

Great pictures! These look so professional and delicious too! Love the swirls. mmmm tough choice. I am lusting after the Tessa Kiros books I am still yet to buy. But my ultimate (v expensive) book would be David Thompson's Thai Street Food *sigh*

Thanks Heidi :) I've seen David Thompson's book and it's definitely beautiful. Have you checked out Book Depository as I've found them the cheapest place to buy cookbooks online and order all of mine from there for much less than what we pay in Australia. Here is a link to David's book

I agree, the delicious recipes always seem to work, which is great. It's always good to know you have a reliable recipes source because there is nothing more frustrating than using a recipe and finding it doesn't work.

Oh my gosh, these look INCREDIBLE! Such a great recipe! I'll be making these when my mum comes to visit this weekend. One of these beautiful little slices of chocolaty goodness with a cup of tea and some girly banter will be perfection! Thanks for the inspiration!
