Win a lifetime membership to Eat Your Books

In celebration of my recipes now being indexed by Eat Your Books, you have the chance to win a FREE life time membership to Eat Your Books, thanks to the lovely team at Eat Your Books!

Eat Your Books is a website for people who love cookbooks, own a lot of them and want to make better use of them.  Perhaps you haven’t got time to flick through all of your cookbooks to find a particular recipe, or you keep using the same book over and over and would like to use other books in your collection. This is where Eat Your Books comes to the rescue.

Eat Your Books can help you find recipes from your cookbook collection in seconds. Once you’ve added your cookbooks to your library, which is so simple to do and took me about 20 minutes to add all of mine, you can then quickly and easily search for recipes in your cookbook collection by name or ingredient. For example, in the search below I searched my library for recipes containing mushrooms and the results show all the recipes in my collection that contain mushrooms, and the book the recipe comes from. Brilliant huh?!

Eat Your Books recipe search

With Eat Your Books you can create your own personal Bookshelf and you can find recipes across:

  • Your cookbooks - tell us which cookbooks you own. If we haven’t indexed a favorite book, use the EYB indexing tools and do it yourself.
  • Your food magazines - add that stack of magazines, all the most popular magazines have been indexed.
  • Great food blogs and websites - such as Delicieux, Food52, David Lebovitz, Smitten Kitchen, 101 Cookbooks and many more.
  • Your own personal recipe clippings - bring some order to your clippings files by using the EYB indexing tools.
  • Your favorite online recipes - using the EYB Bookmarklet – add any online recipe to your collection.

Eat Your Books is NOT a recipe site, so you won’t find the recipes here, but you will be able to find them and if there is an online version of the recipe there will be a link to it.

I used Eat Your Books a couple of years ago when I was given a trial subscription via a UK food magazine. For whatever reason I let my subscription lapse and even if I don't win this competition, you've reminded me about how useful the site is. I have too many cookbooks to count but repeatedly go back to the same ones time and time again (Nigel Slater's Real Food and Donna Hay's Food Fast). Eat Your Books helped me get out of a rut! I also liked the fact that I could log on from work and figure out what I would cook when I got home. You can't do that with a hard copy cookbook!

I really need this. I haven't counted the number of cookbooks I own, I'm too scared to! However I would hazard a guess that I may be getting close to 200...

Just spent some time poking around Eat Your Books - it seem super useful! I probably have about 60 cookbooks now... and growing weekly. Congrats on your recipes being included!

At last count, I think 231 cookbooks, but I think some have been added since then. My favorite to cook from changes a lot, but my favorite to read is 'A Love Affair with Southern Cooking'.

Sounds like you definitely need Eat Your Books Katie with that many books. Good luck in the give away!

Omg I need to win this competition!!!!! Eat Your Books is an amazing website. To date I probably have over 200 cookbooks and cooking magazines. I've never cooked anything out of some of them because there's just too many to go through. This we site would help me so much. My favourite books in my collection would have to new all the Donna Hay cook books and magazines. Her food always looks and tastes fantastic.

great give away! I only have one cook book and that is Jamie's oliver 30 mins meal, I live and die by this book because of my everday busy work. I really don't have time to cook.

Came across Eat Your Books the other day through Delicious Magazine who were providing a free three month trial. Looks great. I have a good collection of different cookbooks but not as many as some of your other followers!! I do however have every one of Donna Hay's magazines (along with many other cooking based magazines) and most of her cookbooks.

What an awesome concept! I only have a burgeoning cookbook collection at the moment (about 15) and my favourite is my newest acquisition - the Laduree 'Sucre' cookbook. I bought it super cheaply in Singapore and it is the most beautiful book (and beautifully presented also).

Just found your site for the first time and I'll be back.

I have 186+ cookbooks (probably more), so I could really use a membership. I buy a lot of them second hand. One of my favorites it "The Art of South American Cooking" by the late Felipe Rojas-Lombardo

I have about 40 cookbooks my favourite is Jamie's Ministry of Food Anyone Can Learn to Cook in 24 Hours

I thought I had a lot of cook books, but when I read how many some of the people that have commented here have, I see I'm a rank amateur.

    • Jennifer December 16, 2012  9:01 am Reply

Hehe yes, there are a lot of people that have a lot of cookbooks. I thought my collection at 107 was bad, but seems I'm not alone. :)
