Announcing the launch of the Delicious everyday cookbook

I’m beyond excited, and more than a little nervous, to announce the launch of my e-cookbook, Delicious everyday!

It’s long been a dream of mine to write a cookbook. One I never actually thought I’d realise, but through the wonders of self publishing here I am, and here is my cookbook – Delicious everyday.

Delicious everyday cookbook - Jennifer Schmidt

Pretty isn’t she? :)

There’s been a lot of hard work, recipe testing, time spent taking and editing photos of the finished dishes, tears of frustration over dealing with word processing software, and nervous excitement. But today is the day that I can finally share it with you, and I hope you are as excited as I am!

Delicious everyday is a 73 page PDF e-cookbook containing 33 recipes. From savoury to sweet you’ll find inspiration for delicious everyday meat free meals. Meals that are nutritious, use real ingredients, and are made from scratch. Food that is as beautiful to look at as it is to eat.

Inside you’ll find recipes that come together in a flash, and recipes for those days where you feel like spending a bit of time in the kitchen to prepare a special meal. There are chapters on kitchen tools, pantry essentials, appetisers and snacks, soups and salads, mains, and of course, if you know me, a chapter on sweet treats was a must! You’ll also find hints and tips to ensure success, and I’ve included metric and imperial measurements for every recipe.

One of the things I was adamant about was that every recipe include a large full colour photograph. After all, we eat with our eyes!

So here’s a look inside

Congratulations, very exciting! Is it compatible with ibooks?
My favourite Delicieux recipe is the Roasted Butternut Pumpkin and Red Quinoa salad - I took it to a performance of the Canberra Sympony Orchestra at the Government House gardens last week, and it made the perfect picnic dinner!

Thank you Tess! The book hasn't been released in iBooks format just yet (something I am working on)but, in the meantime you can open he PDF in iBooks. I've included a link to Apple's support page explaining the process http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4227?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US I hope that helps.

And thank you for your kind words about my pumpkin and quinoa salad. It's a favourite of mine too! :D

So far, my absolute favourite Delicieux recipe is the Golden Vegetable Curry. I have made it again and again and neither my husband nor I can get enough! So many of my workmates have tried it and wanted the recipe as well. Congratulations on your cookbook!

Took me a while to find cardamon pods, but now that I have I load up and all is good! We make at least one batch of ice cream a week. Fantastic. And THANK YOU!!

Oh congratulations! You must be so proud and happy to have published this. I've been thinking about making an e-cookbook myself and this is inspiring. Well done.

    • Jennifer February 26, 2013  9:00 am Reply

Thanks leaf. I am proud, although I was very nervous about hitting publish yesterday, but everyone has been so wonderful and supportive in ways I never expected. :)

And if you are thinking of writing an ebook do it. It is a lot more work than you assume from the start, but so rewarding to see it complete. Anyway, I'm thinking of writing an article on Food Bloggers Australia with my tips on writing an ebook in the next month or so. So keep an eye out for that.
