Announcing the launch of Food Bloggers Australia

I’ve been blogging since 2007, and while food blogging has continued to grow in Australia over the years I’ve been surprised that no national body or community existed to support and provide resources and information specifically for Australian food bloggers. That is, until now. Amanda McInerney from Lambs’ Ears and Honey and I are proud to announce the launch of Food Bloggers Australia, Australia’s food blogging community.

Our aim with Food Bloggers Australia is to provide support and resources for food bloggers of all levels and aspects of food blogging.

On the Food Bloggers Australia website bloggers will find resources and information about blogging, interviews and news articles relating to items that impact the food blogging community. Also, as we build up our membership, we hope to offer bloggers with a way to connect and network together, as well as members only opportunities and giveaways.

Businesses can come join us too and we can offer a central point of access to a base of trusted and established food bloggers who are interested in working with brands to help market their products and services.

As food blogging medium continues to grow, with a number of blogs already gaining or even outpacing traditional print media, it’s important that we come together. By creating a professional, co-operative and responsible community we we will become a credible and responsible voice in food-related matters nationally, and by banding together we will  also offer a central point of contact for Australian food/beverage businesses who are increasingly looking to dependable, trusted food bloggers to help communicate information on their products.

Amanda and I are both extremely excited about this new and much needed community. We sincerely hope all of our Australian food blogging friends will be too, and will support us by joining as members.  Membership to FBA is free for bloggers and we can promise you a friendly welcome, encouragement, opportunities and the best relevant information available at all times - join us here!

Will you have a list of Australian bloggers on the site too? I find it hard to find out who bloggers are in different states. That would be useful - like a "members list".

That part we are still talking about. Some people may not want their information shared. It's certainly something we will look at though.

Fair point. Just their blog name & URL would be sufficient. Grab Your Fork does something like that for NSW...people "opt in" by asking to be added to the list.

Oh wow! What a fantastic idea! A big congratulations to you and Amanda for taking this initiative. There is no doubt that Food Bloggers Australia will be a great resource to many food bloggers in Australia, both new and already established. I'm guessing that there has been, and will be, a lot of work in setting up FBA and I wish you both all the best in bringing the Aussie food blogging community together. I have no doubt it will be a very successful venture.

You beauty! There are so many times I've said I wished there was a "local" we could frequent to get feedback, answers to questions and make new connections with bloggers and food writers that share the same experience I do. We all have the same seasons, similar shopping experiences and it's nice to work together with people who aren't a world away.

    Well done!
