I was contacted a while ago by Franchise Fit Out Services asking if I was interested in reviewing the Blendtec HP3A Homeblender. When I heard the name Blendtec I thought it sounded familiar and then recalled hilariously clever “Will It Blend” videos I had seen on You Tube. This clever marketing campaign showed the power of the Blendtec blenders by blending unusual objects, such as whole cans of Coca Cola, iPads, rakes and Justin Beiber merchandise.

Last weekend I had a hankering for something with beautiful Moroccan style spices, and these gorgeous little pasties are what I came up with. Now that the weather is warmer I’m wanting lighter meals. While for a lot of people that might mean a salad as a main meal, I’m not really one of those people. As much as I enjoy salads I want something a little more substantial to go with a salad, and these Moroccan Carrot and Lentil pasties fit the bill perfectly. I served the pasties with tabouli and a spiced carrot salad, both light and refreshing and beautifully spiced.

Now that summer is on it’s way (actually I am convinced it’s here already because we seem to be enjoying summer weather and not spring as we should be) we can finally enjoy ice cream. While you can still enjoy ice cream in winter, I just don’t think it’s the same, and the weather certainly doesn’t make you crave cooling and refreshing ice cream.

Cauliflower is a vegetable that doesn’t get much love. It’s strange looking, fills the kitchen with an almost sulfurous smell when it’s being cooked, and I think we all have horrible memories of it served to us as children with all the nutrients steamed out of it.
