Are you a food blogger? Do you enjoy baking? Do you enjoy cooking pavlova’s or perhaps haven’t tried making one before and are looking for a challenge? Then join our Great Australian Pavlova Blog Hop Event.
Born out of a discussion among myself and food bloggers, , , and , on Twitter, the Great Australian Pavlova Blog Hop aims to bring together foodies to share their amazing creations on the same day, November 27 Australian Eastern Daylight Time.
What is the difference between a Pavlova and Meringue?
The Pavlova was created to celebrate the Australian and New Zealand tour of Russian ballet dancer Anna Pavlova. While both Australians and New Zealander’s claim it as their own, one thing is for certain, it’s considered a national dessert in Australia. Whilst it is similar in appearance to a Meringue, the difference lies inside the Pavlova, which is soft and marshmallowy, compared to that of a meringue. The soft and marshmallowy interior is achieved through the addition of cornflour (corn starch).
What is a blog hop?
A blog hop is sometimes also called a link up. Bloggers visit the host blog and link up their blog posts. Once they have linked their post on the hosts blog they then receive instructions on placing the blog hop code on their blog. Once the code has been added visitors to the blog can view thumbnail images of submissions from other bloggers and click on the thumbnail image that interests them and hop from blog to blog.
How will the Great Australian Blog Hop work?
Bloggers from around the world are invited to join this fun event. Delicieux will be hosting this event and on November 27 2011 Australian Easter Daylight Time everyone participating in the Great Australian Pavlova Blog Hop is invited to publish their pavlova recipes on their blog. Once you have published your delicious pavlova recipe you will need to visit Delicieux, and link up your pavlova post on the The Great Australian Pavlova Bake Off page by following the instructions on that page and obtaining the link code to place on your blog enabling visitors to hop from blog to blog seeing all of the wonderful Pavlova submissions.
When sharing your blog posts on Twitter and Facebook you are encouraged to use the #pavbloghop hashtag.
What next?
Firstly, invite your blogging friends to join in the fun. Feel free to email, tweet or share on Facebook the link to this post which provides instructions.
Once you have invited friends, the next step is to bake your Pavlova! If you’re not familiar with Pavlova’s here are some great recipes to check out – and . Feel free to be as creative as you like.
Happy Baking and I look forward to seeing everyones submissions on November 27!!

Hi Lizzy, if you want to post more than one recipe you are welcome. What I suggest you do is write them as separate posts on your blog and then link up to each post.
So excited about this! Im most certainly in!
Great news Amy. I’m looking forward to seeing what you whip up
This is such a great idea! We volunteer as taste-testers. We’re also happy to take in any pavlova that needs a good home.
