Rosemary Sea Salt Chickpea recipe

Sometimes you want something delicious to snack on but you also want it to be healthy.

These Rosemary Garlic and Sea Salt Roasted Chickpeas are healthy, high in protein and fibre and full of flavour.  In fact, when I made these I couldn’t help but snack on them straight from the oven.  They are quite addictive.

Roasted chickpeas would be wonderful to have on hand when you have friends over for a drink but don’t want to snack on junk food or you want something a little different.

If you do make my Rosemary Garlic and Sea Salt Roasted Chickpeas, keep in mind that they really are best eaten fresh from the oven.

What are your favourite healthy foods to snack on?

Jennifer,
I have been wanting to make a nice roasted chickpea snack ,and here you are! I have made a few attempts to roast the peas at a high heat for a shorter time with not great results. I will take your advice and roast longer at a lower heat. Thanks for the tip on a yummy healthy snack!

Oh, I love the idea of chickpeas as a snack! Sound very delicious. :)

My most favorite snacks are the sweet ones, I always have something raw in the fridge…

Gorgeous! Love roasted chickpeas and apart from Indian spiced ones my favorite combo is garlic and rosemary!

Now this looks tasty! I sure hope I could make them salty because I like snacks that are salty. I don't know why. I guess I'm just one of the few people who are not exactly born with sweet tooth. That's not a bad thing, right? lol.

Anyhoo, where could I find chickpeas and if there weren't anything available, is there some sort of alternative for it? I want it to be healthy but I like it salty, weird huh?

Hi Sasha, chickpeas are usually readily available in the supermarket in the canned food aisle. Alternatively, you could try roasting pita bread with those flavours. :D

Beautiful! I love roasted chickpeas, they're the best snack! I love how perfect yours look, mine are never that evenly colored. But I usually use a hotter temperature so I'll try your method next time!
